See when you file a mutual divorce petition, the first motion is recorded on the date which is given at the time of filing and that is not more than one to two weeks after filing. After recording of first motion, the second motion is recorded after six months of recording of first motion. However, in certain cases, an application for waiver of six months is filed and if it is allowed by the court, you can get the second motion and decree much sooner.

Hi
It is a rule under family courts act that the second put up(hearing) mutual consent divorce petitions are to be heard only after 6 months.
Please note only supreme court has powers to cut short the waiting period of 6 months and even high court does not have the powers.
