Annulment of marriage in case of bigamy

28-Nov-2024 (In Divorce Law)
I am 33 year old female and have been married for more than two years following Hindu traditions. I left my husband's place because he is already married and physically violent, so his second marriage; that is with me becomes automatically void. Do I have to still annul this marriage even if it is neither registered nor legal. If yes, then how much time does it take for annulment ? I hope it doesn't takes as much as divorce cases take in India.

Yes u have to legally get ur second marriage annulled as ur husband had the knowledge and therefore it has no legality in the eyes of law. The time taken for annulment is different from the original divorce cases and it can be finished depending upon the other factors such as the capability of ur lawyer. Children if any from that will be considered as legitimate and will get all the rights from his/her father.
