Alimony after 9 years of marriage daughter 6 years husband drug addict

My husband used to him me a lot and is adrug addict, I am not working, I have a daughter who is 6 years old and it has been 9 years of our marriage but now as I want to take divorce my husband threatens me by saying that after 7 years of marriage I cannot file for anything related to the finances, like alimony etc.. so is it really this way and after how much time do I get the alimony amount and how much can I file for, does it depends on the financial condition of the husband, also how much right do I have on his property, though right now the house where we live is under his parents name he doesn't have anything under his name... so he tells me that even if I file for the property right I will not get anything .., please suggest
