Advice needed for divorce as I live separately from my husband for 5 y

I was married in 2017 but it is not a happy marriage. From the day 1 of my marriage, my position in my in-laws house is not good. In 2019, I was forced to leave my husband's house after hearing lots of slangs from my husband and his father. After that, there was no communication done to me from my husband. It's almost 5 yrs , I leave separately from them. Now, I want a divorce. How much time it takes to complete all the process and any legal huddles I need to face for this.

If it is a mutual divorce then atleast 6 months is required, but if it is a contested divorce then the time may extend till 2 years and more. It depends what is your demand. If you just want a divorce then its better to go for mutual divorce convincing your husband. But if you want maintenance, then you should file for contested divorce as well as maintenance suit simultaneously

You can file a suit for divorce. You should have filed it earlier preferably in 2019. However, you can also file the same now. It will take around One and an half year to get the decree of divorce depending on which Court you file. If your husband is willing to give to divorce, then it will be easier to get divorced.
