Can a wife adopt a child during divorce proceedings ongoing and separation?
Assuming you are a Hindu, as per Hindu personal law for adoption a wife needs consent of her husband.
Since, you are in between a divorce proceeding wife can adopt if the husband gives consent but he will not give consent because then he will have to pay maintenance to the wife as well as for the adopted child and the child can also claim right to his properties.
