Will my past action of downloading from torrent sites be punishable

I have been downloading copyrighted material such as games, movies, music and books for the past 3 to 4 years through torrents and file sharing sites. I didn't know it was illegal all these years and the punishment for it was jail even for personal use. I found out about the legality of my above actions this year. I decided to buy everything from this year. But some movies and almost all anime and manga are unavailable in India due to geo-restrictions. I have decided to download the movies which are blocked here from websites but not torrent websites and delete them after seeing them and watch anime and read manga (which are not available here) on websites that offer them for free. I will pay for everything else (such as games, music and books and movies available here).
