When an accused is sent to police custody or directed by court to be remanded in police custody which can exceed upto maximum of 14 consecutive days for the case, he/she is kept in police lockup. During the course of police custody the accused is mandatory to be produced before the court after every 7 days

once the trial start for any case accused is produced before the concerned Court or magistrate the court if thinks it proper then permits to sent the accused to judicial custody well it depends on the circumstances and facts of the case the third angle is that before sending to judicial custody not granting bail the court may give custody of accused to the investigating agency be it police or anyone else . person is given in police custody sent to police station and kept in the custdy of police. once police completes investigation produce the accused before the court and then the accused is sent to judicial custody. in our country the judicial custody is the jail of concern district. You may move bail Or if it is illegal custody beyond the permissible rules and period then you can move before High Court for writ of habeas corpus .
