When are the Accused Appearance Mandatory in 498A?
25-Aug-2024 (In Criminal Law)
For 498A Criminal Case, I am aware that for Framing of Charges, the Accused appearance is mandatory. Thereafter for which of the stages the Accused appearance is mandatory until judgment?
Also does cross examination happens at the same day of witness statement before the magistrate?
hi Felix here, I can well understand your concern from the query raised, yes appearance of the accused is mandatory at every stage during the trial, you can skip one or two hearings in the event of there being a valid ground, and file petition for the same, thank you, you can contact me for further clarifications
