what is the mode of delivery of court's notice

I want to know if one party appeals in the high court, then how is the other party notified? Is the notice sent to the residential address via speed post or a local clerk alongwith a policeman brings the notice? It would be of great help if someone could answer my query. Thanks.
Dear Client, You should tell me about criminal appeal or Civil appeal anyways any of then opposite party should file CAVEAT if Criminal Appeal then after conviction and if Civil Appeal then after order which was passed by sub ordinate court under section 148 A CPC.
Once the order has been passed then via court opposite party will get intimation.
