What are the consequence for the person giving surety for bail

A woman committed suicide. But no death note. Her brother filed a case against in laws and husband and married brother in law(married brother in law lives in another town). Brother in law needs a bail but was told needs surety for bail. My question is what are the legal problems for me if I give surety for bail for brother in law if he doesn't show up in court on required date? I'm a government employee. ?
the amount you would indemnify for such baill will be collected as fine from you and the liability of the surety of the amoung extended for his presence and it is limited as per section 437 and other criminal rules of practice
