What are the charges applicable in the case of assault

One men come on my roof and attack my brother by a solid stick then my brother is attack his head and his head is break and he hospitalised for few day I ask what are possible in my case

is FIR lodged against the crime which has happened on the roof of your house. in case not then you can file a FIR against the person who attacked your brother first by giving a complaint to the police. in case he has already filed a complaint and a FIR is lodged against your brother then you will have to apply for bail and then defend the case by proving that your brother attacked him for his self defence
