Dear student, your query is not probably happen as the party to suit engages lawyer for represent them properly in the court. Similarly, any party can produce a witness to substantiate their claim in the court. Lawyer is not responsible for appearance of any party, witness etc. The witness may be genuine or fake it should be clarified by court after cross examination his testimony if he is not genuine and his deposition cannot be taken into consideration while deciding the controversy. There is no fake witness defined in law rather it may be hostile witness. You should read the chapter related to witness and evidence in Evidence Act section 145, 152,153 etc. And chapters of Cr.P.C. and CPC in this regard.

I don't want to answer this question but still you have asked so I am replying your uncalled for query. No lawyer will produce fake witness nor he will ask his client to indulge in such type of thing. Lawyer profession is very noble profession so never doubt it
