Contested- The case is contested by both the sides... which mean, in simpler words fought by the prosecution side and by the accused. Conviction- The prosecution side successfully established the guilt of the accused and therefore the court awarded sentence/punishment to the accused

In this case, contested allowed means the court has passed an order in the petitioner favour. It means the case which was pending before court was properly contested by both parties and the court has disposed of by passing judgment/orders. Whether you are a petition or respondent, the case has been disposed of by the court.
