Sub collector enquiry report pending more than 58 days

19-Feb-2026 (In Criminal Law)
wife passed away. I was arrested, granted bail, and all bail conditions were fully relaxed. Police stated the investigation was almost complete, yet no charge-sheet has been filed. A Sub-Collector enquiry concluded on 24-12-2025, but the final report is still pending. When can I expect the report

Typical Timeline: After an enquiry concludes, the report usually moves from the Sub-Collector to the District Collector and then to the police. This often takes 30 to 60 days. How to Proceed: File a formal application for a certified copy of the report or use an RTI (Right to Information) request to the Revenue Department to obtain the status. This report is essential for the police to file their final report under Section 173 BNSS.
