Request for Legal Advice on Employer Threats Without Evidence

25-Apr-2026 (In Criminal Law)
My former employer is threatening legal action under BNS and Companies Act without providing any written proof or details. They are forcing me to appear in office immediately and not allowing remote clarification. They are alleging financial discrepancies of 1–1.5 crore but have not shared any documents, transactions, or evidence. Is it legally mandatory for me to appear in person without receiving written details? What should be my next step to protect myself?

Don’t go there without any written notice. Instead of this, write a formal application and ask regarding the allegations in written or on WhatsApp communications. If he is harassing you, make a record of that, it will be beneficial at later stage. Also, if you go there, they will compel to accept the allegations, or record your communication and make you pressurise by coercion, dont sigh anywhere.

You are not legally required to appear in person based only on verbal allegations. Ask for written details, evidence, and a formal notice. Do not visit without proper legal communication. Keep all records, and if pressure continues, respond through a lawyer or take legal action for protection.

--- You are not legally bound to appear without written details of allegations. Demand all charges and evidence in writing via email. Do not appear under pressure or sign anything. Verbal threats without evidence may amount to criminal intimidation under BNS. Consult a lawyer immediately to protect yourself.
