Rectification of error in the FIR

I have filed an FIR for my stolen bike. However, there is human error in the filed FIR online. I have mentioned there that the Bike manufactured by Bajaj whereas it was manufactured by TVS. All other details are fine. What can I do now ?

Thats a curable irregularity and that can be cleared at the later stage where you evidence will be done by the police officials and you don't need to worry about this. Just mention this when police will be recording your statement at a later stage.

An FIR is filed under section 154 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973. In the present circumstances first you will have to find out that under which Police Station's jurisdiction will the said incident of the bike getting stolen lie. Then you will have to write a letter to the Station House Officer of the concerned police station describing him in detail the occurrence, the fact that you have filed an online FIR and the human error that had occurred while filing the FIR. In furtherance of the same in the letter you will have to put forward the request regarding the correction that is needed to be done with respect to the manufacturer of the said stolen bike. You will have to clearly mention the rectification that is required to be done in the present case.

u can send an application to the concerned sho or other authorities of police station along with the document containjng details of the vehicles like RC etc. u can either mail or by post ..the receipt of mail is must.
