Procedure to file defamation against colleagues

Some people who are my colleagues uses offensive names for me unnecessarily, without any mistake of mine. And also uses to call me with that on open roads in front of public and family. So, can I get them legally punished if there is a law?
Section 499 of the IPC provides the following essentials ofo defamation. If you can establish all of them, you can file a criminal defamation case against your colleagues.Whoever, by words either spoken or intended to be read, or by signs or by visible representations, makes or publishes any imputation concerning any person intending to harm, or knowing or having reason to believe that such imputation will harm, the reputation of such person, is said, except in the cases hereinafter expected, to defame that person.
