Procedure after being held for drink and drive

I was given a receipt for drink and drive last year and they seized my bike at that point, however when iasked the traffic police guy what is the procedure he asked me to come next day to their office. when i went next day he aksed me 4000 rs and took my ticket and gave me my bike back and asked me to come after a week to collect my driving licence(different state license) after a week he gave me my licence back. After talking to my friends i came to know recently that their is court procedure i need to do. so i am not sure now without the receipt how can i go to court and be compliant.
Hi, I suggest you to approach the traffic department/RTO and check in their records if there is any violation of traffic rules w.r.t. your vehicle. If it is found then suggest you to pay the fine and get the matter resolved.

Hi....if police has given a slip you have pay the amount in court not in the station but here your paid the amount in police station means police had taken extra money from you. You may get notice from police any time.
