Approach the Superintendent of Police (u/s 154(3) Cr.P.C.) – Submit a written representation along with copy of FIR, 164 statement and evidence. File a Complaint before the Magistrate (u/s 156(3) Cr.P.C.) – You can move an application before the jurisdictional Magistrate seeking direction to the police to register/alter offences as per your statement and to conduct proper investigation. Monitoring of Investigation (u/s 173(8) Cr.P.C.) – You can also request the court to monitor investigation and ensure addition of proper sections as per evidence. Writ Petition in High Court (u/s 482 Cr.P.C. or Article 226) – If police inaction persists, a criminal writ or petition under inherent powers can be filed before the High Court for fair and proper investigation.

Hello reader, if you are facing unfair investigation for an F.I.R., lodged by you. you can approach the High Court by filing a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. Such petitions are generally filed under the category of Criminal Writs, where the High Court has the power to order concerned authorities for proper investigation or provide appropriate relief to protect your fundamental rights and prevent misuse of the legal process.
