Hello, in this case there is an option of sending a legal notice to that person. Possibly it will get resolved on notice. Further you have the option of filing a consumer complaint. please contact me for further discussion to help you in this regard.

Through an advocate, send a legal notice demanding: Delivery of the cupboard within a fixed time (e.g., 7–15 days) OR Full refund of the amount paid This often pressures the other party to settle. 2️⃣ File a Consumer Complaint This is a case of deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act. You can file a complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in your area if: You paid for goods/services The product was not delivered Refund was refused You can also file it online through the E-Daakhil portal. You can claim: Refund of amount Interest Compensation for mental harassment Legal costs

Since you have paid ₹30,700 and the person has neither delivered the cupboard nor refunded the amount, this amounts to cheating and breach of trust. First, send a legal notice demanding refund within 7–15 days.

You have clearly been cheated and the excuse he is giving that he has passed the work to someone else is not your concern. You have paid him ₹30,700 and he is legally bound either to deliver the cupboard within a reasonable time or refund your entire amount. First, gather all proof – payment receipts, bank transfer details, WhatsApp chats, call recordings (if any), quotation, or agreement. These will be important. You should immediately send him a formal legal notice demanding refund of the full amount within a fixed time (for example 7–15 days). In many such cases, once a proper legal notice is issued on an advocate’s letterhead, such people become serious and settle the matter to avoid police complaints and court proceedings. If he still fails to refund: 1. You can file a police complaint for cheating and criminal breach of trust. 2. You can also file a case before the Consumer Commission for deficiency of service and claim refund along with compensation. Do not keep waiting based on verbal assurances. A strong legal notice usually gets such people straight and puts pressure on them to resolve the matter quickly.

You can file a criminal complaint for Criminal Breach of Trust (Section 316 BNS / 406 IPC) and Cheating at your local police station. Since there is a clear failure to provide service or a refund, you should also send a formal Legal Notice demanding the amount with interest within 15 days. If he still fails to pay, you may approach the Consumer Forum for deficiency in service and recovery of your money
