Notifying the Jurisdiction after state Bifurcation

06-Aug-2025 (In Criminal Law)
Sir, earlier in United Andhra Pradesh jurisdiction for JD (Andhra), ACB, HYD was notified as a police station. After state Bifurcation office was shifted to vijayawada and JD (Andhra), ACB, Vijayawada was not notified as a police station under section 2(s) of 1973 crpc. Is it required to notify the same again by the State Government after the State Bifurcation.

Yes, post-bifurcation, it is legally necessary for the new state government to issue a fresh notification under section 2(s) of CrPC to recognize the ACB Vijayawada office as a police station. Without such notification, its power to register FIRs or conduct investigations may be legally challenged. Proper notification ensures compliance with procedural law and upholds the validity of its actions in court .
