My college forced me to sign undertaking to clear the noc

20-May-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I am a MCA student, cracked a placement through my college but I denied it and didn't join. But now they are asking me to pay 30,000 INR as placement fee. And when I denied to pay they said to sign the undertaking to pay within one month otherwise they wouldn't clear my NOC and didn't allow me to submit my project. So I was forced to sign the undertaking. And today My 4th sem result also released. But I am not allowed to access the result. Is it legal for the college to do this with students?

No, it is completely an illegal act by the concerned college to behave in such a manner with the students. The college cannot withhold any certificate or result or whatsoever on the basis of non fulfillment of placement fee. Further, levying of placement fee is completely illegal and action can be taken against the concerned college authorities. There are criminal as well as civil consequences which would follow for such illegal conducts and acts. For further advice and help kindly contact our office.
