Missing case filed 3 years back can we close it in other city

I left my home 3 years back and that time my parents filed missing case. Now am in touch with my parents but sub inspector has asked us to come to Hyderabad and close the case.. As I m working in Mumbai is it possible to solve the case from here or do I have to go to Hyderabad and have the case closed. Or can my parents take back the case. Please suggest
