Life threat by son in law to all family members
09-Oct-2024 (In Criminal Law)
Can we get assistance nand police protection in case of son in law threat of life.what should a daughter do
If the behaviour of your daughter's husband is intolerable towards her then she can anytime forward a complaint regarding her grievances in writing to the police station according to her jurisdiction. And if she wishes to go legal then she can also file a petition under section 12 Domestic Violence or section 125 CrPC and claim maintenance for herself. And if there's no scope of living together then rather stretching the relationship she should file for contested divorce under the ground of cruelty. I would suggest you to go with mutual divorce because it's cost effective and ends up in a maximum of six months. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
You can file a written complaint against that person then the police will take a legal action against him. Even then if you feel that the police is not doing anything, then you have many legal remedies which you can use and you can also get police protection for yourself, if you want, call me or meeting with me then I can tell you whole process for the same.
Although the process is too long but surely you can get the police protection. it is advisable that you should first file for cases under DV act and various other provisions so that at least the person is informed about the scenario and he should stop doing that. if the life threat continues kindly file an FIR first so that proper legal proceedings can be initiated
file an FIR at the nearest police station, detailing the life threats made by your husband. This will create an official record of the threats and allow the police to take action, including providing protection. Consequtively under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, you can apply for a protection order in court. This order will legally restrain your husband from contacting or approaching you and will offer legal protection against further threats or harm.
