Lien hold on company’s bank account

Due to the ongoing investigation of IDFC First bank fraud, the Anti Corruption Branch (Panchkula) has lien marked a lot of funds from company’s bank account. How many days will it take for a lawyer to get the lien released. Layer number- 2, 3 and 4. Representation already sent and taken receiving on 3rd March 2026. Yet no result.

The release of a lien marked by the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB), Panchkula, in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation under IDFC First Bank matter is governed by the procedural framework under the Code of Criminal Procedure and relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Since a representation has already been submitted and acknowledged on 3rd March 2026, and no relief has been granted, the appropriate next step is to file a formal application before the concerned Investigating Officer demanding a reasoned order on the representation within a stipulated time. If no response is forthcoming within 7–10 working days, a Writ Petition under Article 226 before the Punjab & Haryana High Court can be filed seeking directions to release the lien, particularly if the funds belong to a company and their freezing is causing irreparable business loss. The lien cannot be kept indefinitely without a formal attachment order passed by a competent court. Courts have consistently held that investigative agencies cannot paralyze business operations without judicial sanction. A well-drafted writ with urgency mention can yield relief within 2–4 weeks. It is strongly advised to escalate immediately through the High Court route given the delay already caused.

kindly send complete details regarding ur matter, how much fund lien, fund which has been lien'd u received in ur account before the idfc bank probe or after, all fund u have in ur account is lien or specific amount, time is not specific,it depend on various factors

Hello, There is no time fixed for getting a relief from the investigation agency as they will only get you relief once the investigation is complete, Till then you can approach high court under writ jurisdiction or can apply for de freezing of the account before the court where the complaint has been registered

There is no time limit for lawyer to get lien released. Without court order, matter may remain pending. Best course is to immediately move application before Magistrate for de-freezing of account, rather than waiting on representation.
