the process for investigation would effect only when the magistrate taken cognizance of the case under 200 crpc mere letting in evidence wont effect or taken cognizance the CC must be either numbered or must be referred to police then anyone can take effective steps for speedy investigation

Dear,

The magistrate court where you have filed the private complaint has to take cognizance of the complaint and once the magistrate court takes cognizance of the complaint, the court may take charge of the case itself or direct the police to file FIR and thereafter, file the charge sheet after the investigation. Thus, you need to wait till the PO of the court assumes office and takes cognizance of the complaint.
