Insulting in front of other teachers of the college

A contractual teacher used derogatory remarks against me saying badtameez insan , shakal dekhi hai tune apni and tu mujhe janta nahi hai dekh lunga tujhe sale . I am a HOD Public Administration in a college . It has badly affected my reputation as a college teacher and a human being. What legal step can I take ?

you can simply make a complaint against him before College principal. principal can take suomoto cognizance. if he found him guilty he can then forward a complaint to concerned police. If all failed then you can approach court of law and file criminal complaint against contractual teacher for criminal intimidation, defamation etc as per prevailing criminal laws ..

first you should submit a formal written complaint to the principal or director of the college and describe them whole incident and also highlight how it has affected you and demand for a strict action against such person . if college administration does not take any action you can file a police complaint or a civil suit for damages
