I have to join vessel in next coming months


10-Apr-2026 (In Criminal Law)
I was used by my friend as a delivery boy and got fir in arms act 25 1b a , i got bail but i am working in merchant navy and i do not want to attend the trail date police is yet to file chargesheet what should i do

you can file a discharge application or a quashing in gujrat high court if fir is quashed cancelled then there us no question of attending trial that is the best remedy for it and for discharge you can apply from the district court concerned you need to file case as early as possible

you need to file a permanent exemption report before the court stating details relating to the nature of work you do. since the chargesheet is yet not filed, there are chances that investigation is going on so the might grant you the exemption with the condition that you will have cooperate with the investigation

1. File exemption application through advocate (u/s 205 CrPC) citing Merchant Navy duty 2. Ensure regular representation by lawyer 3. Seek permanent exemption if possible You should not skip court. Even if chargesheet is pending, absence can lead to NBW (non-bailable warrant).
