How to settle case in one hearing

04-Apr-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I have to appear in court as i have lodged an FIR when my mobile was stolen. Someone got arrested for that and his family came to me asking for compromise. I told them i will do so as i don't want any furthur disturbance from courts and police. So, now i got notice from court and have to go court. What should be my next step so that this matter will settle without any more hearings?

Since you have already compromised the matter, the better thing for you is to get the FIR Quashed. For this ask the Accused to file Quashing Petition in the High Court u/s 482. It is simply one day process. He can engage a Attorney in High Court, he will do the filling and all, and on the date fixed for hearing, you will be required to visit High Court and give your statement that you have compromised and the matter will be over. It is just one day thing.

In Trial Court, it will take more time, and you will be required to go again and again. So best thing for you get FIR quashed in High Court.

I practice in Gujarat High Court. Should you require any assistance in this regards, then let me know

you need to go to the notice date as per show on the court notice. you need to give statement to court, you get your mobile (if you getting it). and not want to do any further legal process. the court will be assign your statement and then your case is goes to the judgement.
