23-Sep-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I need to retrieve documents and pen drive from NHRC(national human rights commission) in UP who gave the case to the UP police, they diarized and then they asked me to relog a case with Delhi NHRC. Since I shall be proceeding with free legal aid in West Delhi for my case, how to get those documents( papers and pen drive - related to the my case , which I shall file under free legal aid once I go to india)

Seems like you will have to engage a local council to physically work towards retrieving the said pen, drive and other important documents which may with the NHRC. In case you need any help in such engagement, please contact me, thanks.

Since NHRC (UP) transferred your matter to local police and later advised to re-lodge before Delhi NHRC, the first step is to apply in writing to NHRC Delhi for retrieval of your case documents and digital records (pen drive, papers) already diarized. You can file an RTI with NHRC or submit a formal application citing your earlier case diary number, requesting certified copies of all documents. Once you are in India, you may also approach the NHRC Delhi office in person or through your legal aid lawyer in West Delhi. The free legal aid cell can draft the required application and follow up with NHRC and police authorities to ensure those records are attached to your case. Keep copies of all earlier communication and diary entries as reference.
