Housing Society Defamation Case

05-Feb-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, Defamation case was filed against my uncle including other 3 Housing Society committee members. The defamation case was done by one of the society member as his name was mentioned in the defaulters list and put on the notice board. His name was not alone, it was along all other members who were in the defaulters. The case is running in court. Due to certain circumstances, my Uncle wants to sell/rent his flat. Will he face any difficulty to sell/rent his flat due to this defamation case on him? I know there is no relation, but I still wanted to take an opinion.

he may or may not face any issues while selling the flat. it depends purely on how someone looks at the transactions. you must first find a good purchaser and then further immediately inform the society by way of a letter stating that xyZ person is interested in the property and that you intetend to sell it at the earliest.
