17-Jan-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I am a clerk in central government office. My officer is harassing me mentally. And keep on doing everything to defame me and deteriorate my work. I have lost my peace of mind, my health is also deteriorating. Can I file a police complaint against him? I feel like to commit suicide

Mental harassment by a senior officer is a serious workplace issue that can affect an employee's well-being and efficiency, and there are legal avenues to address it. Victims should carefully document all instances of harassment and report them through internal channels like HR or the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), if available. In Delhi, complaints can also be filed with bodies such as the Public Grievances Commission, the Vigilance Branch of Delhi Police (for cases involving police officers), or the Anti-Corruption Bureau (if corruption is involved). Additionally, one can approach the Central Vigilance Commission or the relevant department?s grievance redressal authority. If internal measures fail, pursuing legal recourse under workplace harassment and service conduct rules is also an option.

If they are not listening to you then you can send them a legal notice and in that notice you can write either stop all these harassment or face legal action. And if want to go legal then you can always forward a written complaint to the police station of your area. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

depending on the level of harassment, you may be advised to file a police complaint apart from filing an internal complaint for initiation of departmental proceedings against your senior. a senior cannot harass his subordinate officer and subject to proper understanding of the facts of your case, appropriate action as per law may be taken.
