Section 352 IPC Punishment for assault or use of criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation. If someone slaps you without a strong reason, they can be punished under this section. Punishment: Up to 3 months imprisonment, or fine up to 500, or both. 2. Section 351 IPC- Defines assault (use or threat of force on another person). If it caused visible injury: If the slap caused injury (pain, swelling, redness, etc.), it can also fall under: Section 323 IPC - Voluntarily causing hurt. Punishment: Up to 1 year imprisonment, or fine up to 1,000 both.
