Flatmate threatening me and also tried to kill me have medical report

My flatmate attempted to choke me and thrashed me as a result of which i have swollen head , scratched neck, in my by forcefully entering in my room and damaged my valuables including my laptop which is my livelihood, all the time threatening to throw my damaged laptop in the water.My flat has separate rooms which is located at Versova, Mumbai. I have done the medical report of the assault and got the help of the police. After which he was handed over a warning letter which I believe is not FIR. Since, I vacated the flat immediately and planning on taking some legal actions on strict level.
