Filed an FIR and asked to be appear in court

05-Sep-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My mobile was stolen in november 2018 after that I have filed an FIR. There is no development in the case neither the phone is found nor the culprit is caught. But now after 3 years I was asked to be appear in the court. What to do now, what are the process taken in the court in this case and how should I appear myself before them.

You must have received a summons from the court. There can be probability that someone else has used your phone for the commission of an offence or the police officials must have got your phone and that’s why you were called to the court to collect the same. One can comment you better if he sees the summons received.

kindly ask the police officer who asking you to appear before court. In addition ask them on what grounds you are asking to appear before court. further ask them is there is any first information report (FIR) against me or not.
