False promise of marriage and physical relation

13-Sep-2025 (In Criminal Law)
A guy persuaded me and made me fall in love with him. He also made a promise to marry me. Consequently he established sexual relation with me and exploited me sexually for 3 years. After 3 years all of a sudden he unnecessarily started quareling with me and refused to marry me for no reason. I even contacted his parents but they too misbehaved with me. I want to know what legal action can i take against him. This incident happened between 2013 to 2016 . Can i still get a case registered now ??

Based on the facts you shared, this matter falls under the category of sexual exploitation on the false promise of marriage under bns and Even though the incident happened between 2013–2016, you can still file an FIR. For serious offences , there is no limitation period for lodging a complaint.

Based on the facts shared, it appears to be a case of sexual exploitation on the false promise of marriage. Under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (earlier IPC), this may amount to rape/cheating depending on proof. Though the incident occurred between 2013–2016, you can still file a complaint/FIR as law does not bar delayed reporting in such cases if genuine reasons exist. Courts may condone delay considering circumstances. You may also approach the Magistrate directly through a private complaint. Please keep all evidence such as messages, witnesses, or any proof of relationship ready before initiating proceedings.

You should go to the nearest police station and lodge a complaint, he will be sent to jail on the charge of rape. You can put pressure on him for marriage and tell his family to get us married or else I will go to the police
