fake case after not marriage from a girl after engagement

22-May-2026 (In Criminal Law)
i’m a hindu guy I am 30 years old and I wanted to get married. Then my family found a match and I got engaged. After a few days, I came to know that the girl's behaviour and character was not good and her family members were pressurizing me to get married soon and were threatening to kill me. After much persuasion, the dowry money was returned to them and after a few days, they filed a fake case against me. 318(4)/316(2)/351(2) /352/356(2) /356(3) / 61 / 3(5) BNS g% ¾ D.P.

Apply for anticipatory bail (if not already arrested) Through a local criminal lawyer in Sessions Court/High Court. Especially important if non-bailable sections are included. Preserve all evidence Keep: engagement photos/videos, chats, call recordings, proof of dowry money returned, bank transfers, witnesses present during settlement, threats received from the girl’s family. Do not contact the girl or her family directly now No angry messages. No threats. No social media posts about them. Quashing petition in High Court (if FIR is clearly false)

Hello, if a FIR is being filed upon you based upon fake allegations from the opposite party, you can approach the High Court to quash the FIR registered on you upon fake allegations by the opposite party

Hello Reader Based on the facts stated by you, it appears that your engagement was cancelled due to concerns regarding the girl’s conduct and the threats allegedly extended by her family members. If the dowry articles or money were returned and thereafter a criminal case has been lodged, the allegations may be challenged on appropriate legal grounds.
