Evidence via video conferencing in case of theft

I had lodged an FIR for a stolen phone, the police found the phone and also the thief, now the matter is in the court and court is sending bailable warrants at my home in india but I am abroad for studies and will come after 3 years. so how do I give evidence via video conferencing do I have to hire a lawyer here in canada? or go to embassy? will there be any charge? .or I can just give evidence through my laptop sitting at my home here through Skype or Hangout?

In a path breaking development, the Supreme Court held that a trial judge could record evidence of witnesses staying abroad through video conferencing.
Interpreting Section 273 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the light of technological advancements, a bench comprising Justice S N Variava and Justice B N Agrawal said recording of evidence through video conferencing would be perfectly legal
The high court has also issued certain guidelines in this regard.
