Hello reader, Since it was a first-time consumption case and you were released after paying the fine, it is treated as a minor/compounded offence and generally does not create a serious criminal record. It usually does not affect foreign travel, visas, or government exams. If you want complete peace of mind, you also have the option to file a quashing petition before the High Court to get the FIR formally quashed, which removes any future doubt during verification.

one-time alcohol consumption case, especially for a first-time offender, is generally treated as a minor or petty offence under the relevant State Excise laws. If you were detained briefly, an FIR was registered, and you were released after paying a fine, it usually means the matter was either compounded or disposed of summarily. In such situations, there is often no formal criminal conviction, which is the most important factor for future consequences. Payment of a fine by itself does not automatically amount to a conviction unless a court has passed a specific judgment recording guilt. As far as going abroad is concerned, most foreign visa and job application forms ask about criminal convictions, not about FIRs or minor police actions. A single consumption-related offence without conviction is not considered a serious crime and is also not treated as a crime involving moral turpitude. Therefore, it ordinarily does not affect eligibility for foreign employment, study visas, or immigration. Regarding government examinations or public employment in India, the usual requirement is disclosure of convictions, not minor or compounded offences. A first-time consumption case, settled by fine and without conviction, is generally not a disqualification. To be safe, you should verify the final status of the case to confirm that there is no conviction on record.

Aapko FIR ki certified copy nikaal ke quashing of FIR file karni hogi. Quashing of FIR file karne se aapke upar hua laga hua FIR khatam ho jayega High Court se aur in future aapko kahi kisi department me problem face nahi karna padega.
