Procedure After Paying Drink & Drive Challan in Court Even after paying the fine in court, the challan may still appear as Pending or License Impounded on the e-challan portal. To get it updated, follow these steps: Collect These Documents You must have: 1. Original Court Payment Receipt (fine paid receipt) 2. Order Sheet / Release Order (if licence was impounded) 3. Your Driving Licence (DL) 4. Your Challan Number 5. Any ID Proof Visit the Traffic Police Office Go to the Traffic Police Headquarters or the Local Traffic Challan Branch where the challan was issued. Ask for: “Challan Disposal / Compounding Section” Submit: Court fine receipt Court order DL (if required for revalidation) They will verify the court disposal details. Traffic Police Will Update the Status After verification, the Traffic Police staff will: ✔ Mark the challan as Paid / Disposed ✔ Remove the Licence Impounded status ✔ Update it on E-Challan Portal and Vahan / Sarathi database This takes 24–72 hours, sometimes up to 7 days. If Not Updated If still not updated: ✔ File an online complaint On the e-challan portal → Grievance / Complaint section OR ✔ Visit RTO / Licensing Authority Sometimes the licensing authority also needs to update the release of your DL. Keep Scanned Copies Keep photos / scanned PDFs of: Court receipt Challan DL This helps when submitting online complaints. Court does not update the e-challan portal. Only Traffic Police + Transport Department (Sarathi) do. Status usually updates once traffic police uploads the court disposal memo.

Hi, you need to give the slip to traffic tower to get the challan disposed online. It will show outstanding till you do this step. Only after you give the slip at traffic tower, they will update it as paid and then it will reflect on the portal.
