In cognizable offences, the police have the authority to arrest without a warrant. Whether bail can be granted at the police station depends on whether the offence is bailable or non-bailable under the law. Bailable offence: The accused has a right to be released on bail, and the police station itself can grant bail upon furnishing the required bond and sureties. In such cases, engaging a lawyer is not legally mandatory. However, having legal guidance can ensure proper compliance with paperwork and conditions. Non-bailable offence: Bail cannot be granted by the police station except in rare circumstances where the law specifically permits. Normally, you must apply to the court. In such situations, a lawyer’s assistance is strongly recommended, as the procedure is more complex and involves legal arguments. In short, if the cognizable offence is bailable, you can get bail from the police station without necessarily hiring a lawyer. If it is non-bailable, court intervention—and generally a lawyer—is required.

Well, Cash Bail is possible sometimes directly from Police Station if the Offence is Bailable despite being Cognizable. If the Offence is Non Bailable and Cognizable, then, Bail needs to be taken from the Court.
