Defamation and threats to a girl in order to prevent her marriage

One of my relatives is being defamed and threatened by a person in order to prevent her to marrying anybody else. He has already misguided some interested parties stating falsely about having an affair with the girl.
You need to visit the concerned police station and lodge an FIR against the accused person. If in any case they deny, you can move an application to DIG of the concerned locality and ask them to direct the police t lodge the case.
If this also fails by any chance then you can move an application before trial court in form of private complaint through which the court will register a case on its own.
