Criminal/civil case? Monitoring the return of the money

12-Sep-2023 (In Criminal Law)
PLEASE DO NOT PUBLISH THIS ON YOUR WEBSITEnI am a foreign woman. During an emotionally difficult period, I was tricked by a man from Udaipur into sending him my savings, an enormous sum of money. He claims to have invested everything on his name in a piece of land he cannot sell. A complaint has already been filed on my behalf but the police have not yet registered an FIR.My questions:n1. If I get the case settled as a crime and win, what are the consequences for the accused - jail, fine, return of the money?n2. Or does the latter require filing a civil suit?n3. Should I do both in parallel, criminal and civil case?n4. Who is monitoring the return of the money?

You have to file both civil case as well as a criminal case. via criminal case you can get the accused punished for the wrong he did to you. and civil case to be filed to recover the money that you have given him. both the cases will go hand in hand. if you choose to file a criminal case, you first have to file a FIR and put the investigation into motion. for better understand of the case, kindly proved with some more details.
