Clarification on time limit for registering case u/s 306b IPC
29-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I just want to ask the time limit of registration of ipc 306b
as such there is no limitation period to file a criminal complaint but it is better to be filed as soon as you came to know about the offense to take the cognizance of the offense committed, you can show that you were aware about the facts of the offense committed but as soon as it came to your knowledge you filed the complaint.

This offence is serious in nature, punishment for this offence is max. 10 yrs. and triable by Court of Sessions. so registration of offence is as early as possible. But some delay is happened, it should be clarified just & reasonably.
