Cheque bounce, and cheating by a broker friend for trading what to do

24-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Had given some money and shares as margin to a broker friend to trade. Instead of trading in my account he traded in his account. After making some profit, when I asked my money, shares and profit, he is not returning it. On forcing he gave a letter that he owes me on a plain paper, and gave me cheque. Cheque bounced on 8th August 2017 at Mumbai Dadar. Want to file a case under section 138 NI, criminal case under sec 420. Need advice and later lawyer.

in this case you can send him a legal notice and demand money from him in a limited period. if he did not comply with the terms of the notice then you can file a suit under the negotiable instruments act where you can seek for payment double the amount.
