Can my brother file a case against her wife, if she lived for 10 day?

25-Jun-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Marriage fixed for 28 feb and bride's family is from haryana so we decided to book all venue and after some time they will paid to us which were there expenses, but after all arrangements they refused for marriage and said they don't have money, then we decided to do marriage at home on 21st feb. She started her drama during ferre because she asked to my bro to hold hand in haryanvi(he didn't understand), we thought it's not good to refuse for marriage at this time, so we calm the situation and after coming home she was like it's my right( shagun ,jewellery, gifts, money, right on bhai salary). We know it's her right but in 8-10 days it's not good. She went her home on first holi and took all jewelry ,shagun everything and stopped talking to us. We tried to contact them but no response. It's been 3-4 months ,now they contact us through a third person and forcing to come at their home to talk. What should we do?

The situation seems like you have been trapped in some kind of scam or something. Your brother can very much file case against the girl and her family for cheating, fraud, taking consent by fraud for marriage and further for committing theft. He can very well file case for divorce from her in the given facts and circumstances.

It depends on what your brother wants since it is about your brother's life.
In my opinion , if a matter can be sought out with talk then there is no harm in it.
You , Your brother can go there with some elder family member to settle the dispute.

Engage an advocate, take him along. Ask why she is demanding to meet, record everything that happens in the meeting. Sign it as witness by advocate. If the situation worsens your advocate will assist you a better recourse. Everything depends on what she want right now.
