Can I be involved in criminal case if someone used my address falsely?
28-Oct-2024 (In Criminal Law)
A person involved in a criminal case, whom I don’t know, falsely used my address, claiming they rent my property. The police came to verify, and I tell them that no one with that name lives here, and I have no rental arrangement with this person. They took a photo of my Aadhar card and had me sign a statement that i dont know them and they don't live here. Am I at risk of being involved in this case, and is there anything I should do legally to protect myself?
since you have already given a statement to the police that you have not rented your property to anyone else so there is nothing what can happen to you legally in the present case and I will advise you to relax and keep on doing your work freely as there will not be any legal implication. just keep the date on your mind or write it anywhere so that you have ready reference of the statement made
