As an advocate, In India, a consultancy firm like Hi-Tech generally cannot legally withhold your original documents, even if a bond or agreement was signed stating they could. The enforceability of such a clause, particularly when no service (like an interview or job placement) has been provided and you haven't received any salary, is highly questionable under contract law, and it could be construed as coercion or unfair trade practice. While they may claim a right to a month's salary based on a signed agreement, retaining original documents as leverage is typically not permissible and you have legal recourse to demand their return.

Well, what you have narrated is pure extortion! You can sue your Ex Employer for retaining Original pivotal Academic & other Career related Documents with them! In order to get back such Docs, We need to send them a Legal Notice first! If things get sorted via Legal Notice, well and good, otherwise, We have to file a case in Police Station against your Ex Employer!
