There is no such law to exempt police official family from legal courses. Pertaining mental illness treatment you are entitled to receive free legal services from the committee constituted under legal services authorities act of 1987.

Hi... definitely police man also get arrest if he is doing illegal act or acts which are not permitted by law. in India laws are same to all person including politicians and court will not judge any person by his designation or his post which he have in the society and every one is equal before the law. So police man will be arrested if he done illegal act.

Hi, None are above law. Be it son of a Police Officer or even a Police Officer himself. Everyone are bound by the set of rules and regulations and those who violate the public peace and involve in any offence be it cognizable or non-cognizable they shall be punished as per the law of the land. If you are being threatened and your personal liberty is at stake then please lodge a police complaint and if there is rejection in filing an FIR, approach the jurisdictional court in your area and file a complaint. As per the Mental Health Care Bill 2016, Persons with mental illnesses have the right to live in a community and cannot be segregated from society. For those whom this is not possible, the government must provide legal and other necessary forms of support to help them live a regular life.
