Calculation of limitation period in crpc 468 in

22-Jul-2023 (In Criminal Law)
For FIR in ipc sections 143,147,148,324,149 if three years have passed without chargesheet Can it no longer be taken cognizance of as per crpc 468? Or is crpc 468 only relevant for limitation period of filing FIR from the date of alleged crime.

without going into the nature of offences let me put this categorically to you that limitation is limited to filing of FIR from the date of cause of action or the offence committed in general. so filing of chargesheet is not barred by limitation although default bail is a remedy that an accused behind the bar can avail if the cahrgesheet is not made within the statutory limit.
